Entropia Universe will release a number of Stable Estates, another opportunity for participants to generate revenue for in game currency that can be converted to real cash.
Originally released in 2005, the first phase of the taming system allowed Entropians to tame mobs from the wild and have their own personal pets. Although quite limited, there was a huge amount of enthusiasm and many people spent a lot of money in increasing their skills. Disabled in 2009 after a version update which introduced ‘cry engine 2’ and removed some professions in the process, taming is the last of the main professions to be re-introduced after a wait of 5 years.
What to Expect
Stage 1 - (Planned for Autumn 2014 Release)
The first stage the taming system will be similar to the original taming system which involved taming a mob with a whip, using nutrio bars to feed animals once they have been tamed, and a brush; used to increase the animals trust and allow it to perform ticks and greetings. Pets will be able to follow avatars throughout the Entropia Universe.
Stage 2 - (Planned for Late 2014 / Early 2015 Release)
In this stage it is planned to implement additional skill-based taming abilities. A limited number of stables will also be made available that fulfill various roles within the taming system such as stabling, feeding, expert training, trading and more.
Stage 3 - (Planned for Early 2015 Release)
Battle Arenas will be introduced which will allow tamed creatures to battle one another. Each battle will be unique, with a wide range of offensive and defensive pet buffs and upgrades along with customisable attack and defense profiles. Sounds like Pokemon for pets!
How to make money
Stable managers will generate revenue by charging fees for services in the stables. Examples of services include selling, trading and specialised training. Stables will also be involved in the future Pet Battle Arenas and Controlled Creature Battle Octagons (where avatars can take control of creatures and fight it out). It will also be possible to rent out stalls to other avatars for their pets and provide specialised training of pets.
Stables and their managers will provide housing and maintenance for avatar pets that are stabled, including food and energy. The better the care provided by the stable the faster the pets will progress and their performance in competitions will be improved.
As with other estates within Entropia Universe, stable will be able to be upgraded (at a cost) with shopping booths, additional stalls, teleporters, terminals, visual additions and other features.
The stables will be placed in various locations on the numerous planets within Entropia Universe and each planet will be able to place them on the in game auction with a starting bid of 20,000 PED ($2,000). The final prices paid will depend on the location and the communities valuation.
