I'm writing this as I am doing runs so it might be a bit chaotic at first but I am hoping to end up with a comparison of finder depths and ores/enns found

Area I'm currently in is the desert area between Jelly Zone and sandy shores west

Well that was poor!! After 20 drops I had lots of NRF and mostly enm so I doubled up the run and it did improve but very bad for Ores. If the Yashib claim at 586m hadn't dropped the depth spread would have been from 5m to 387m which is not brilliant I think.

Could be a bad day for mining maybe? or really shallow mining is not as good as it's reputed to be? I don't have a finder that is at that 400m depth but I suspect it wouldn't be much of an improvement.

Less hits but the size VI Acid at the end possible skewed the results, also looks like the min depth is getting deeper but the depth range is getting squeezed

I got to 20 drops each and the results were a bit off as I'd hit a lot of NRF's and little Ore, so I doubled the length of this run to normalise it which worked out. I have the impression now that the area mined has more effect that the depth targeted, and just throws up oddball finds if your depth doesn't quite suit the area. I have always had the suspicion on Toulan that there is a band at around 800m where the results are bad but deeper works and shallower works.


I'll try the DSEC L30 over the next few days

Ok that was looking like another bad mostly Enm run then I hit the size XIII Zinc which saved the day. Spread is good and the selection of resources is nice too.

I've looked at the results and from them here is a resource mining breakdown of the entire desert area north of Sandy shores west, I stopped at the edge of the sand, and avoided the bahri wave area.

It would be interesting to see the results from a shallow finder. My experience has been that the Toulan specific resources are easily found much higher, but I never kept any records of my mining on besides the areas, and I know those have been changed (for the better) since then.

I can do a run with a rookie Terramaster and and F101 happily, I'm also going to go all the way down to 1400m over the weekend, watch this space
