Imposible to update to 17.3.1 - EU certificate revoked

I cannot update to VU 17.3.1. During the update process I get the message "This application has been blocked for your protection". I run Windows 10 (up-to-date).

I tried on another laptop and I get the same blocking message.

I can't even reinstall EU, with the same message.

It seems the certificate (for EU) has been revoked by its certification authority.

Other players with the same problem?

Hey Wang I had a similar issue and tried a few things the blocked file didn't work and lowering the security in User Access Control didn't work. Only thing that worked for me was disabling UAC in the registry by doing the following:

1. Open Windows Registry : Start > run> type regedit
2. Navigate to the following key:
3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
4. In the right pane, modify the value of the EnableLUA DWORD value to 0:
5. Restart your computer.

Question : Is it better to enable UAC again after the update (for security reasons)?

no worries

It's probably better its what drives the 'the prompt' to run as, make you less susceptible to accidentally install stuff you shouldn't etc. You may need to repeat the process next update though!
