I visited Yasmina for the magic carpet mission but when I go through the dialogue the mission doesn't appear in my log,

If I click a second time it asks for the items but I click I don't have them yet and the mission aborts.

Then I can retake the mission but it still doesn't show in my log.

So I don't know if it is active or not?

The magic carpet mission is just a hand in mission. So if you go to yasmina she tells you about what she needs. If you have the requirements you can hand them in. And if you don’t the mission ends. I hope this explains it
